Roomie has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Protecting children is a responsibility we take seriously, and this page describes our standards and how to report a concern.
Roomie is for adults only
Roomie is intended exclusively for people aged 18 and over, and minors are not permitted to create accounts or use the service.
At sign-up, every user must confirm their date of birth, and anyone under 18 is denied account creation. This self-declared age gate is Roomie’s age control and applies to all users.
Members may optionally verify their identity through our partner Didit to receive a verified badge. This is an optional trust feature, available after signup in settings; it confirms identity, not age, and is not required to use Roomie.
What is prohibited
The following are strictly prohibited on Roomie and will result in immediate removal and a permanent ban:
- any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or content that sexualizes minors;
- grooming, soliciting, or attempting to exploit a minor;
- sharing, requesting, or facilitating access to such material; and
- any other conduct that endangers or exploits children.
How we respond
When we become aware of CSAE, we act quickly. We remove the content, ban the account, preserve relevant information, and report to the appropriate authorities and relevant child-protection organizations as required by applicable law. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
How to report
If you encounter content or behavior on Roomie that may involve the exploitation of a child:
- use the in-app report tool to flag the profile, message, or content; or
- contact us directly at support@roomie.cc with the details.
We review every report. If a child is in immediate danger, please also contact your local law enforcement.
